This source is from the Gale virtual reference library and gives an overview of the

history, present, and future perspectives on homelessness and its prevalence. It

defines homelessness and gives insight on the causes of it. This reference would be

helpful in defining and outlining homelessness and how my capstone project could

assist with it on the Floor2Feet website.

Army, Salvation. “Why Are People Homeless?” The Salvation Army,

www.salvationarmy.org.au/en/Who-We-Are/our-work/Homelessness/Why-are-people-homeless/. Accessed 21 Feb. 2018.

A brief one-page look at why homelessness is on the rise in America and globally,

and maintains that stability in routine and jobs is the way out of it. This website is

not as useful to use with my capstone project, but backs up the need for local

employment and communication connections through homeless shelter liaisons.

“Soft Skills to Pay the Bills — Mastering Soft Skills for Workplace Success.” U.S. Department of

Labor -- ODEP - Office of Disability Employment Policy - Youth in Transition - Soft

Skills: The Competitive Edge, Office of Disability Employment Policy, www.dol.gov/odep/topics/youth/softskills/. Accessed 26 Feb. 2018.

This source details the different kinds of soft-skills and their beneficial impact on the work environment and provides PDF files so that the viewer can learn how to develop these skills themselves. My capstone project is not incorporating soft skills into its database at this time, so this source is less useful at this point.

This source takes an in-depth look at homelessness and why it has become an issue in

America. The majority of homeless people are single mothers caring for children with low

income, and can be turned away from shelters due to lack of space. The Raegan administration was seen as the culprit of the rise of homelessness due to cuts in social-welfare problems during the 80’s.
